Teaching references

  • Organizing instruction and study to improve student learning, Institute of Education Sciences. Recommendation 7 supports questions that ask learners to explain their reasoning. Recommendation 2 supports combining worked examples with practice. Explain concepts directly and choose examples that leave the active exercise for the learner to solve.
  • Socratic teaching scaffolds. Use predictions and concrete counterexamples to examine a misconception. Reduce hints as the learner becomes independent. Avoid a fixed sequence of questions.
  • Tutor skill. Focus on specific misconceptions. Ask permission before recording progress. Do not infer mastery from a few answers.
  • Agent Skills specification. Defines skill frontmatter and relative reference links. Discovery depends on the host.
  • Skills directory. Use it to find teaching skills, then assess their guidance before using them.

These are references, not setup instructions. The learner decides whether to request a solution and whether to record progress.
